A Case of Giant Skull Base Chondroma
Intracranial chondroma is a rare benign tumor. Here, we present the case of a 29-year-old female who was afflicted with left eye blindness and ptosis. Brain computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging revealed the presence of a giant calcified mass accompanied by a solid mass in the middle and posterior fossa. A differential diagnosis regarding chordoma, chondrosarcoma, and other cho...

متن کاملSkull base osteomyelitis presenting as Villaret's syndrome.
This report documents a 47-year-old male who developed acute deficits of the IX, X, XI, XII cranial nerves and Horner's symptoms, consistent with Villaret's syndrome. Neuroimaging studies demonstrated an osteolytic lesion in the skull base involving the clivus and jugular foramen. The patient recovered after the antibiotic treatment for proteus mirabilis infection. We suggest that Villaret's sy...

متن کاملPrimary intracranial germinoma presenting as a central skull base lesion.
We report an unusual case of primary intracranial germinoma involving the sphenoid bone and sinus. To the best of our knowledge, paranasal sinus and bone invasion of primary intracranial germinoma has not been previously reported. Recognition of this rare form of presentation by imaging is important because early radiation and chemotherapy can result in a cure of this neoplasm.
